Privacy Policy

Privacy Summary

  • Your photos stay 100% on your phone.
  • No accounts, ad networks, or telemetry trackers.
  • Location is used strictly to overlay photo logs.
  • External map requests transmit zero identity details.

1. About KordiCam

KordiCam is a mobile camera application created for field workers, surveyors, travelers, and photographers to take photos automatically stamped with real-time GPS coordinates, street addresses, compass bearings, weather metrics, map thumbnails, custom project names, and custom logos.

KordiCam is designed around a simple principle: your data belongs to you, and what happens on your phone stays on your phone. The application does not use user databases, tracking networks, or advertising systems.

2. How Your Data Is Handled

Here is exactly how KordiCam processes information on your device:

  • Your Photos

All photos you capture are saved directly to your phone's local storage. KordiCam does not operate a cloud server, and your photos are never uploaded or shared.

  • Your Location & Compass

KordiCam accesses your phone's GPS and compass sensors locally to calculate coordinates, altitude, bearing, and address. This processing happens entirely on your device.

  • Address Lookups

The app uses your phone's built-in system geocoder to turn coordinates into a human-readable street or area name on your device.

  • Camera Access

The app uses your camera hardware strictly when you open KordiCam to view the preview and snap pictures.

  • Device Info & Timestamp

Your phone model and system time are read only if you choose to display them on your photo watermark overlay.

3. Third-Party Map and Weather Services

To display live satellite map overlays and current weather metrics on your photos, KordiCam connects directly to reputable online service providers:

  • Map Imagery: When map overlay stamps are active, KordiCam requests map tile images from MapTiler and OpenStreetMap. These tile requests ask only for map image graphics for specific grid coordinates—they do not send your personal identity or photos.
  • Weather Metrics: To display temperature, humidity, wind, and weather conditions, KordiCam requests weather data via WeatherAPI.com. To protect your location privacy, coordinates are rounded to about 1 kilometer before asking for weather, and results are cached locally on your device for 15 minutes.

4. Permissions Requested

KordiCam requests standard mobile device permissions necessary to operate:

Permission Why It Is Needed
Camera To capture photos and render the live camera preview.
Location To acquire GPS coordinates for photo stamps, map overlays, and weather.
Internet To fetch MapTiler satellite tiles, OpenStreetMap layers, and weather metrics.
Storage / Media To save watermarked photos to your gallery and load custom logo overlays.

5. Your Data Ownership & Control

As a user, you maintain complete control over your files:

  • Deleting Photos: When you delete a photo inside KordiCam, it is permanently deleted from your phone's storage. No remote backups or cloud copies are kept.
  • Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling KordiCam or clearing application data in your device settings wipes all app preferences, database entries, and cached files completely.

6. Children's Privacy

KordiCam does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. KordiCam requires no account creation, sign-in, or personal profile.
